About Swaileh
Swaileh sits at the western edge of Amman's built-up belt, past the University of Jordan along Queen Rania Street. The neighborhood retains a distinct old-town character - a busy market spine with bakeries, butchers, hardware shops, and small workshops, surrounded by residential blocks ranging from older limestone houses to newer mid-rise apartments. Day-to-day life centers on Swaileh's main street and the mosque square, where service taxis and minibuses run toward both downtown and the northern campuses. The area is a long-standing favorite for families wanting central access without paying the prices of the inner west-Amman belt.
Swaileh is reached via Queen Rania Street and the King Abdullah II Highway. Service taxis run constantly toward downtown and the University of Jordan. Friday mornings are the busiest.
